Day 2 Pt. 2

What were the rights and values of the enlightenment?
-I relive that what Baron de Montesquieu stood for still shows and is valued today. Democracy follows what he believes in because democracy protects the rights of the people and keeps law and order in the country.

How does American government and culture strive towards those values?
-Where as today we as a nation still believe in democracy, we see it in schools, work places and most definitely hear about it on the news. no matter what it is, there is some kind of democracy behind it fighting for the rights of people.

How does American government and culture violate those values?
-Although many people do in fact support democracy, there are some(Hobbes) who don't. for an example, Thomas Hobbes, who thought everyone's naturally wicked and selfish. so i believe that if he was still here in present day, he would see sex trafficking as a natural thing, with the reason of people are already evil so its just another thing that us evil humans do. not just with sex trafficking with racial profiling as well as racial segregation. all things that humans do that may seem unjustified, inhuman or cruel, would be viewed as Hobbes theory of human nature.
